The Nelson's

Baseball, Field Trip, and Ballet is what has filled our month.

We have been doing Spring baseball with Joseph. Due to some really bad weather, he has two weeks worth of double headers, that means 4 hours each Saturday of baseball games. Mike is the assistant coach and loves it. He mans 2nd or 3rd base. Last weekend, he was the head coach for the game because the normal coach was out of town. He did a great job I am sure. Joseph is doing well at the games and in practice. He is a little frustrated about not hitting the ball, but I think that part of the challenge is that it is player pitch and a lot of the times the ball does not make it across the plate to hit it. He has been walked several times already. His nickanme given by the coach is Little Tiger.

Last week, Joseph and I went on a field trip with his class downtown. We did a walking tour of historic LODO which is lower downtown. It used to be a wearhouse dictirct very near a large train depot. The buildings are all original but are now offices and apartmets. The tour started at Union Station which is the old train depot and then went from there to Coors Field where the Rockies play. We walked past many expensive steak places and other bars and taverns which were all closed because it was ten in the morning. The tour ended at a plaza near the main bus terminal where the three classes met up. Then there were 60 3rd graders running around like wild Indians. We then all got on the free bus mall ride (which I am sure the bus driver loved us getting on) and rode the bus back to Union Station. It was an adventure!

The girls are still loving ballet and look forward to it every week.

Hope everyone has a great month.
