Grandpa and Grandma Romney

January 2009 was a great start of the year for
Gramps. I had three business trips to Atlanta-
Orlando and Kansas City. Tiffany, Dave, and
Benjamin came to Orlando for the week end that
I was there. We had a great time at Gator Land
and Down Town Disney at Disney World in Orlando.
Benjamin and I had a great time 'Camping' at the
Orlando Hilton - Gramps Style. He kept falling
off the log into the Creek. ( round pillow that
Gramps was moving with his feet )
GrandMa and I had a late birthday party for Dallin
in St. George on 1-31-09. Dallin wore Gramps out
at the Jumping Jacks park. I attended a Missionary
Meeting 1-31-09 where Elder L. Tom Perry spoke
and gave us great instruction on doing missionary
work.

I don't know where the month of January has gone. Great things have happened to start the new year. Paula and Mike's lilttle baby Katherine was born and all went well with that. What a great blessing to see the many, many miracles our Heavenly Father blessed Paula and Katherine with. We thank Him everyday in our prayers for those blessings. We went up to Reed and Summer's house this last weekend and spent Saturday and celebrated Dallin's birthday. He wanted to go to jumpin jacks which is a place with all kinds of jumpy castles. He had a great time. Then Dallin wanted to go to lunch and get chicken fingers at Chilies. We then went back and opened presents and had cake and ice cream. It was a fun day. I went too fast. Little Avery is getting so big and she is so cute. We had fund with her while we were taking Dallin to his places. REed and Summer went to lunch and the temple. We met up with them for the cake and ice cream. We are so blessed to have all of you as part of our family. What a blessing the gospel is in our lives. The older I get the more I realize how imporatant family is. May the Lord continue to bless each of you as you strive to llive the commandments. Love mom, grandma

Happy New Year 2009! The happy new year came for us the first week in 2009 when Daniel became potty trained! It only took about a week and he has had very few accidents. The Idaho Romney's officially have no children in diapers! The rest of January has flown by with the highlights being two skiing trips. Kenny and Jeni took Corbin and Anna once and then Andrew and Becca another time. They are all turning into great skiers. Poor Daniel has to wait a few more years to join the fun.

Reed, Summer, Dallin, and Avery

This month we celebrated Dallin’s 3rd birthday. Summer took Dallin and Avery up to Provo to her sister Whitney’s second wedding reception. It was fun but crazy. She probably won’t be going on a trip by herself with the kids for a long long long time. While there Summer’s family had a party for Dallin at The Olde Spaghetti Factory with a Madagascar cake and lots of presents! Reed went back to school (for 2 more semesters. Yeah!) At the end of the month grandma and grandpa Romney came up to celebrate Dallin’s birthday (again!) It was fun to have them come. Dallin and Avery went to Jumpin’ Jacks and Chili’s for lunch with grandma and grandpa while Reed and Summer went to the temple. Avery took her first bite of rice cereal the other day. She is going on 5 months in February. It makes Summer cry to think about it!

This month we welcomed the newest member of our family as you all know. Katherine Diane was born on January 16th. She is doing really well. She is so little but I feel that she is growing and is really heathly. What a great baby that is in our home now. As with formula fed babies she eats about every 3 hours and is seldom fussy except for 2:00 in the morning. But she is worth getting up for.

Joseph has started back to school this past week. He is doing really well there. They are preparing to take the CSAPS so he is taking a lot of practice tests. He is excited about the fact that his special this week is gym, his favorite. He loves it because they get to run around all the time. It seems to get a lot of energy out which is a good thing. Spring Baseball begins at the end of March and he is looking forward to that starting.

The girls are doing well. They love thier new Primary class and thier teachers. They seem to respond really well to them. All my kids love going to Primary I went back to church yesturday for the first time. Mike stayed with the baby and I did my calling in Primary again. It felt good to be back and I know it has been hard on the presidency since I have been gone. I fit right back in though and it felt as if I had never left.

So Happy February....2 years anniversary for the newletter this month....Time flies!!! So DAD CAME TO FLORIDA!!! It was very fun to have him here with us in the SOUTHEAST!!! Benjamin was very excited to see him...he called him GRAMPS all weekend. Dave and I got to go to the Orlando Temple....and Gramps and Benjamin partied in the hotel. We went to Gatorland and it was awesome!!! Gators are sooooo cool....but a bit scary to think that they live in the wild all over florida. There are 3 million gators in florida!!!! We also went to DownTown Disney and walked around and had fun looking at all the fun Disney stuff.....Downtown Disney is the FREE Disney World.....We also ate at a Garidelli's Ice Cream shop...and it was soooo good. Dad and I shared an ice cream sundea and Benjamin and Dave got their own cones...I think that it was some of the best ice cream I have ever tasted.... Florida is florida nothing really had happened this month....besides DAD coming. So we will keep you posted on the law school info. Love you and talk to you all soon

and look for the Good in all parts of our lives. I think being
Cheerful is part of having Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Well Florida is the Vaction spot in the US in December because it is still 80 degrees. So this Holiday season has been great! We went to see Dave's family in NC. It was fun to have everyone together.....and Benjmain being the first Grandkid....well lets just say...SPOILED!!!! We stayed in NC for 2 weeks not by choice but because we all got a really bad cold. Benjamin got an ear infection....I had a fever or like 2 days....and Dave said his throat was so sore he was worried about having Strep....but he didn't.....Well all got better with G&G Steele taking care of us and then we left and now they are sick!!! Well Dave got his LSAT score back and now we are applying to laws schools....so now its the waiting game again.....but I hope letters will start coming in soon because we applyed to 17 schools....so here are a few UNLV, ASU, U. Denver, Seattle U, U. Washington, Florida State, Florida (Gators), Utah, and many more..... so this is our life for now....Benjamin is talking up a storm and there is never a quite moment when he is awake! Oh....wish us luck we are trying to ween the Binky.....Night one has already passed!

Christmas in Boise, ID - By Dad - Gramps
I was not dreaming of a white christmas
but we got one. It snowed ever day that I
was in Boise. It was quite fun to see the
excitement of the children around the season.
It was amazing that Santa Clause typed a note
on Kenny's computer and left if for the kids
after he delivered all the stuff. That is especially
true because I was asleep in the computer
room and I did not hear or see him.
Thank you to all for the great gifts that you sent.
I am using them - the two family picture books,
the Boise State golf towel & survival kit, the movie
CD's, the Las Vegas Temple figurine, the Hot Chocolate
cup etc. And of course the Pop Corn Factory goodies
were the hit of the season. Jeni - cooked all the same
great food that Mom cooks - so I felt right at home.

Reed and Summer Romney

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We had a great time out in Denver and Salt Lake for Christmas. The best part of the story is our train ride…or not! We ended up not going on the train because it was delayed two hours, so we flew instead which Dallin loved! His favorite part was the big things (escalators) and the slippery things (moving sidewalks). Denver was cold but fun. Whitney’s wedding went very well. We got to go out to Paula’s on Christmas day for dinner which was very fun. The kids got to play with each other and had a blast running around the basement. Before we left we got to make some gingerbread houses. Dallin’s and Summer’s favorite part…eating more candy than actually goes on the house. Dallin is so much Summer’s boy that way it is hilarious. He goes around the house and pretends that he finds Sour Patch Kids then eats them. Just yesterday he looked out the window while we were driving and saw all the street lights (we were in a spot where we could look down at the city) and said “hey it looks like candy!” Have a great New Years!

We had a fun filled December in Denver.
The highlight was to have Grandma spend
Christmas with us and help out with all the
household duties. She was in town from
12- 20 all the way through 1-3-09. Joseph,
Julieanna, and Rachel really enjoyed all the
shopping, game playing, and especially the
food that Grandma made. We enjoyed the
visit from Reed, Summer, Dallin and Avery
for Christmas dinner. We thank you all for
the Christmas gifts. We especially thank you
all for the all the prayers concerning the health
of Paula and Miss Katherine Diane.

December has gone by so quick! At the beginning of the month Anna was baptized. Mom and Dad came up from Vegas and her Gibbons Grandparents came up as well. There were also a bunch of friends who came. After the baptism service all were invited back to the house for treats and socializing. All the adults stayed downstairs and chatted, afraid to go upstairs due to all the screaming and door slamming noises! It was fun.

As Christmas approached we decorated the inside and outside of the house. December is the only time of year when the attic is almost empty. The kids get so excited to see the lights and the giant blow up snowman in the front yard. We got a lot of snow this season. We actually had a White Christmas this year! It was really fun.

Dad came up for Christmas and we had a great time. He arrived on Christmas Eve. We took the kids to planet kid for a few hours to play while Jeni prepared for the dinner party that night. We had a few other families over for Christmas Eve dinner. We ate a lot of food and let all the kids play. After dinner we had a little reenactment of the Nativity story. All the kids dressed up as Mary, Joseph, sheppards, wise men, and of course Andrew was the donkey!

Christmas day we opened presents in the morning, ate breakfast cake and eggs, and watched a lot of movies. The kids played with their new toys and there were some pretty intense games of Risk. The day after Christmas we went sledding. Each of the kids got a sled from Santa. So we had to go try them out. There were only some minor collisions and crashes. One sent Becca flying a couple of feet in the air and another sent Daniel inadvertently over a small jump that dumped him out of his sled!

After Dad went home we went to Burley to Visit Jeni’s parents. While there we exchanged presents with them and then took the 4 older kids skiing. It was a lot of fun and all the kids did great skiing. By the end of the day they all loved skiing!
