Caramel Crispy Treat

INGREDIENTS
4 (2.05 ounce) bars milk chocolate covered caramel and nougat candy
3/4 cup butter or margarine, divided
3 cups crispy rice cereal
1 cup milk chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS
In the microwave, or in the top of a double boiler, melt candy bars and 1/2 cup of butter, stirring occasionally until smooth. Stir in cereal until well blended. Press into a greased 11x7 inch pan.
Melt chocolate chips and remaining 1/4 cup butter or margarine, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat, and spread over the top of bars. Refrigerate for 1 hour, or until firm; cut into squares.

As we celabrate the Birth of our Savior Jesus Christ I suggest that we all focus on the Christ Like Attributes that are reviewed in Preach My Gospel on page 126. You should all have a copy but in case you don't - I will list here the attributes and one of the several scriptures that are suggested for review.

Please review these scriptures during your scripture study time this month with your children. It is important as our children grow older that we remind them of the spiritual aspects of Christmas. I know that our Savior suffered for our sins. I know that we will all be resurrected to
a glorious day if we remain faithful to the teachings of the church. I know that the Savior infinate atonement and the application of Mercy and His Grace will complete our perfection process. I know that He lives and loves us to the end. Merry Christmas

Grandma and Grandpa Romney

The Trip to Denver for Thanksgiving was a real Blast! Wednesday afternoon was spent on lunch with Gramps and the kids while MoM and Paula bought stuff for Racheal, Julie Anna, and Joseph. Mom made half the Dinner Wednesday and we had her famous French Dip Sandwichs for Dinner. Joseph spent the night 'Camping' in the Hotel with Gramps and Grams. Thursday AM the rest of crew came over for the annual swim on the 'Camping Trip' - in the Hotel pool.
Mom finished the dinner and we ate about 4 PM.The Orange Rolls were as good as ever - Turkey very moist - Potatoes Creamy - ( John Wayne was Tall ) -Green Beans - outstanding and the pumpkin pie and strawberry cream pies did not last long. Gramps also splurged and sent in a can of Pop Corn Factory 4 way Pop Corn. So, we had plenty to eat! Friday we celebrated the twins birthdays earlier by the usual trip to Chuck E. Cheese and then Dinner at Red Robin - YUM!If that was not enough fun - The Twins 'Camped Out' in the hotel with Grams and Gramps. They said they did not hear Gramps snore. These girls are very smart for their young age. ( Gramps really did not snore! ) It could be because Gramps watched the ASU - UCLA
Football game until 10:30PM in the lobby of the Camp Ground on the 42" LCD TV. Yes - ASU won!! The three kids were just little angels as usual the entire weekend. We set up the Christmas Decorations on Saturday AM. We got out of town just ahead of the snow storm on
Saturday Night. We enjoyed every minute.

Reed and Summer Romney

We had a vegetarian Thanksgiving!!!! Not by choice. We bought our Turkey a week before Thanksgiving and put it in the freezer. Summer insisted that I take the Turkey out and let it thaw on Monday. I insisted that we did not need to. I won the battle of insists and left the turkey in the freezer till the night before. You guys can guess what probably happened! To make a long story short we let the turkey cook for about 10 hours, and by 11:30 at night it still wasn’t done, so the next day we de-boned it and boiled the meat for another 30 minutes! I think I learned my lesson. Other than that dinner was great…we had mom’s yummy homemade stuffing and Summer’s homemade cranberry sauce. And to top everything off Summer made an awesome apple pie. That was our Thanksgiving. We hope you all had fun and were safe. Enjoy the holidays!

P.S. Dallin’s new thing is that he likes to sleep under his bed for his naps. He thinks its his cave.

November went quick as do all the months of this year. It was fun and busy as usual. The girls are finishing up their ballet class in the next couple of weeks. Their teacher told me that they are ready for the higher class beginning in January. She teaches a combined tap and ballet class and she says they are ready to take it. To told her I will plan on it after the baby is born and she said she figured that I was due around the end of January. I will plan to sign them up for the March class and that is when they will start the new one. They are not sure about the tap shoes, but I am sure when they begin the class they will love them. Joseph is doing well in school and at piano lessons. He has his Christmas recital this Saturday. He will be playing Angels We Have Heard on HIgh. He is excited and I am sure he will do a great job . We are looking forward to the performance. I met with his teacher for the parent teacher conference. He is doing well at school. They are taking the CSAPS this year so they are adapting for Joseph to take it with his writing challenges. He will dictate what the person will type on the computer and then he will take what is written and then put the punctuation in. He already does this on a daily basis with his teacher so it should work out well. We had a great time with mom and dad for Thanksgiving this year. They came in on Wednesday morning. We then went to Southlands for shopping and dad and the kids went to On the Border for lunch. We then got some birthday balloons and streamers for the girls birthday party. Mom and I did some cooking that night (mom doing most of it). Joseph slept over that night and then the kids went swimming the next morning. We had a great meal that afternoon and the kids loved spending time with gramps and grandma. The next day was the birthday celebration. We picked up the cake and then went to Chuck E Cheese and opened presents and blew out birthday candles. After, we went to Red Robin and enjoyed a great meal. Then we went back to the hotel and played kid games until bedtime. The girls slept over that night. On Saturday we put up the tree and the rest of the decorations for Christmas. It was a great weekend, Thanks mom and dad for all the great help. We really appreciate it.

So November went really really really fast. Florida is actually getting cold....we have a freeze warning in effect tonight because it will get as low as 32 degrees.....We decorated for Christmas before we left for Turkey Day and Benjamin thought he needed to touch and hold everything that I took out of the boxes. Thanksgiving was fun with Dave's family. We went up on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and went to the temple in South Carolina with Dave's brother Jared. He got his mission call to LA California Spanish speaking and he reports to the MTC December 17th. So there is nothing else really to say just getting ready for Christmas now....hope everyone has a great Holiday. Love you all.
