Steele's

So its official.....we are going to go to Penn State for law school. Now we are just getting ready to move.....nothing much happening here...just going crazy with getting everything in order. Its really hot so we have been going to the pool and we are planning to hang at the beach as much as we can before we leave. Benjamin is getting so big and getting a real mind of his own.....and a very loud set of pipes....he screams all the time with fits because he is not getting his way. But what do you do besides love them...anyway hope all is well.

Significant events of May for the Idaho Romney's:
Corbin broke his elbow
Primary talent show
Soccer ended
Idaho History Bee for 4th graders
Camping
School field trips
Octopus and Ben Franklin projects
Norm visited on Memorial Day (and his birthday)
Andrew and Becca 6th birthday – Luau Party
Andrew had 4 staples put in his head

Overall May has been a fast and busy month. It did not begin or end on a very good note so we are glad it is over. Corbin will get his cast off and pins taken out this week. Since he had damage to the radial nerve in his elbow we are anxious to find out if control of his wrist movement has returned. He still has minimal movement in his fingers. We are praying for a speedy recovery but it could be months before he gets movement back. Jeni's brothers kids were here for a week in the end of May. Andrew and his cousin were being boys and Andrew "fell" out of bed and hit his head on the dresser. He came down stairs and said "I think my head is bleeding" His shirt was drenched in blood. He did not ever cry or even say it hurt very much. 4 staples later and he is good as new! Needless to say, we hope that June has less trips to the ER, hospital and doctors.

Love,

Kenny, Jeni, Corbin, Anna, Andrew, Becca, Daniel

May 2009 was one of the best 30 days that
I can remember. Mom and I had a great week
end in Salt Lake City for her to celebrate Diane's,
Marilyn's and her birthday. We had a great visit
with Michael and Venesa and we saw their new
apartment. They are getting a very good start.
I played 2 rounds of Golf and we had dinner with
Craig and Barabra. Mom had a surprise birthday
party for me with several friends from the ward.
Yes we had a cake with 59 candles - all burning
at the same time. We had a visit from Reed,
Summer, Dallin and Avery. Paula and Katherine
were in Las Vegas the last weekend in May just
to hang out. We had a great time. I traveled to
Boise the day after my birthday - Memorial Day -
and had another birthday party with Becka and
Andrew. So, thank you so much to all of you for
helping to make my 59th Birthday a very special
occation. I enjoyed all the best wishes, gifts and
webcasts that we had. I love you all so much and
I am very greatful that we are working so hard at
keeping in touch.

Spirit Thought:
William James, over a century ago, said, "The
greatest discovery of this generation is that a
human being can alter their life by altering their
attitude." I believe this will all my heart, and over
the years my life has been atlered countless times.
What most people fail to realize is that your
attitude not only impacts the happiness and
success of all the people around you, your
family, your friends, and your peers at work.
Attitudes truly are contagious, and from time
to time we need to ask the ourselves....
"is mine worth catching?"
There is no way to overstate the importance
of a positive attitude in your life. However, no
one can underestimate the difficulty in
maintaining it. It's not easy, and it is a very
personal thing, but it can be done.
How many times do you hear me say that
I will never admit that I am old? I truely believe
that your body produces what your mind
tells it to.
Please review these ideas and the following
Scripture with your families in June.
2 Nephi 2:27. "All things are given them
which are expedient unto man."
Think that Lehi was telling Jacob that
he was in control of his mind, thoughts
and attitudes. Lehi then instructs Jacob
on choosing "Liberty and Eternal Life
through the Great Mediator of all Men,
instead of Captivity and Death by
listening to the Devil."
This is the great quest in all of our lives
everyday.
WHAT DO YOU CHOSE TODAY??
I hope you all chose to look for the good
in all people and all things until you find
it and chose Liberty and Eternal Life.
I love you all - Dad - Gramps!!!

Nelson's

The month of May was a busy one as usual.

It began with Mike going to Memphis to visit his sister and brother-in-law for a weekend trip. He stayred with them and they went to Memphis in May which is a big BBQ celebration they hold every year for the past 61 years. It takes place along the banks of the Mississippi and is a beautiful spot. The competitors compete in different catagories that only involve pork. They compete in whole hog, pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. There is big money to be won and lots of bragging rights. They have a sampling tent that people can go to and sample the food. That is what Mike did. Then they toured downtown the next day and ate at Rendevoux. No trip would be complete without going there and getting the ribs. It has been voted as the best BBQ in the nation by Gormet magazine for many years. They are known for thier dry rub, no wet ribs to be found. It is a hole in the wall and the enterence is off the steet in an alley. He had a great time.

We had a nice mother's day. The kids made me breakfast in bed and Mike got me a two hour hot stone message, it was heaven.

Joseph is starting up summer baseball and is in little leauge now. His team is named the Sandlot and he has the same coach that he did in the spring. Mike is the assistant coach and loving every moment of it.

I had a great trip down to Vegas. We ate at Cafe Rio and Archies. Mom and Dad got me a message and my nails done, it was so fun and relaxing. Mom and I did some shopping at the mall and had a great time there. I went to church with Mom and the baby screamed almost the whole time so I was in the hall a lot. I missed Mom's lesson. I am sure it was good. We all had a great time, thanks again Mom and Dad.
