Hello everyone,
So we are loving State College...and school is keeping Dave really really busy....and it has only been 2 weeks since school has started. We live in a very fun area. There are 7 or 8 member families living in our apartment complex. So its nice to have other people here that are students trying to live cheap just like is. So we have been busy trying to move in and getting things organized. I have been putting everything that I don't know where to put in the 3rd bedroom and now I'm afriad to go in there!!! It is a disaster zone!!.. But it will be clean by the time Mom and Dad come in October....which we are way excited for. So something nice that happened to me today was our nice neighboors brought us homemade asian food....(they are asian if you are wondering). So now I probably should make them something....but what is some ymmy and cool "AMERICAN"food to take to them? Any ideas please speak up...... So I don't have time to upload pictures for us....but you can look at our family blog......dtbsteele.blogspot.com....so hope you all have a great month and we will continue to do the newsletter every month. Grandma and Grandpa Romney
Hi Everybody, Dad and I went to Phoenix this weekend. It was memory lane for your dad. We went with Aunt Jeanene and Uncle Dennis to see the 2 homes they grew up in and had a good visit. Your dad and Aunt Jeanene had a good time talking about childhood memories and some of things about their parents. We then had lunch with them at Monti's Las Casa Veaja. Oh, it is as good as I remember. They have the best steaks, Yum. Then dad nad I went to a baseball game. The D-backs won 9-0 against Houston. What a blessing to have such a great person like your dad for my eternal partner and companion. This month was more of quiet one for us. We did not do much traveling. We are so thankful that we are able to see you guys as much as we can and also we love it when we can do the webcam. We are glad that everyone is doing well. We are still praying for a quick recovery for Kenny's knee. Love, mom, marie, grandma

trip in August to Sunny and Hot - Phoenix!
Dennis & Jeannene drove to Phoenix to
spend Saturday with us. We visited the
Grave Site of your Grand Father & Mother
Wilmer & Mildred at the Mesa Cemetary.
We drove by all the places that we lived
in the Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa area.
We had the best lunch at Monti's in Tempe.
That was my favorite restaurant as I grew
up in Phoenix. We took in the Diamond
Back baseball game on Saturday night.
They beat the Houston Astro's 9 - 0.
We had dinner at Garcia's Mexican and had
the original on only 'Cheese Crisp'. It is
so good.
We look forward to getting the monthly news
letters started again and keeping in touch
as much as we can with all the family.
We are hope that Kenny's knee and angle
gets well soon.

Reed and Summer and KIDS
School is back in session here so Reed is back to teaching. He also got released from young men's and is now the Sunday School president which, I'm sure you can all agree, is right up his alley! He's very excited to serve and to be able to teach the teachers how to teach! (Whew! That's a lot to say!)
We got Dallin signed up for preschool. He will begin in September and is very excited. The name of his preschool is called The Polka Dot Door. Sounds pretty fun!
We are looking forward to Avery's first birthday in September. She spends the majority of her time following Dallin around and getting into things. It's official! She's walking now! Her latest discovery...the toilets. Makes life super fun for us right now. (And super sanitary.)
Just for future reference for you all, Dallin has changed his name to Luke (as in Skywalker) and no longer resonds to the name Dallin. Let's see, dad is Han Solo, mom is Princess Leah and Avery is Chewy "since she doesn't talk." We were at the park one time and Dallin needed help getting off the swing so he yelled out, "Princess Leah! Can you please help me!?" We got some funny looks from people standing by. Oh the joys of being a parent!
We are all way excited for the fall because it means no more 100 degree temperatures and...Halloween! Luke can't stop talking about it!

Where to start?! I guess I will give a recap of most of the major events of our summer. I can’t believe it is over, the kids all go back to school tomorrow, August 31st. Time flies.
June was a fast month. It started out with Corbin getting his cast off. Then swimming lessons for the kids, a relay race in the Sawtooth mountains, camping, and a trip to Denver for Katherine’s funeral.
In July we had a Gibbons family reunion. Jeni then went to Montana for a week with Anna, Becca and Daniel to help out her sister, Lanae, who just recently had twins. People always ask us if twins run in the family, I guess they do now that we have twins on both sides of the family along with ours. While Jeni was in Montana I went on a high adventure activity with our YM. We went on a back packing trip in the Frank Church Wilderness area. It was a good time. We caught a lot of fish, and fresh wild trout is delicious. However the type of camping we did is not for the feint of heart or the Marriot campers. J There were no facilities where we went.
Later in July we went down to SLC for Michael’s wedding. This was a fun trip. Jeni and the kids stayed a few extra days to have fun with the cousins and then ended up bringing Chandler home. He stayed with us for a week and the kids all had a good time.
In August Corbin earned his Arrow of Light award for cub scouts, this is the highest award one can receive in cub scouts. He is now preparing to start boy scouts when he turns 11. Congratulations Corbin. We took the kids to a Boise Hawks baseball game after they earned tickets via the Library summer reading program. About a week ago I was playing basketball and twisted my knee after coming down from a lay up. Right now I am going through some PT in order to try and get recovered. I may have to have surgery since the doc says that I tore the ACL. I have learned to not take for granted such things like walking J.
Well we hope you are all doing well and have had an overall good summer. We enjoyed seeing all of you over the past couple of months and look forward to seeing you all again. Keep in touch.
